ADVANCED MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGY

The cold metal transfer (CMT) welding technology is employed to perform surfacing of nickel-chromium-molybdenum-niobium alloy on boiler heating surfaces, so as to enhance the corrosion protection and wear resistance properties of boiler heating surfaces, and ultimately extend their service life to more than 10 years. The CMT is a new spattering-free welding technology that makes use of digital control to enable short arc and reversal electrode feeding. This technology distinguishes itself from traditional welding methods by exceptionally low heat inputs. It operates by utilizing a pulsed electrode-feeding process, which digitalizes and coordinates the electrode-feeding movements and the globular transfer process. This welding technology offers notable advantages. Firstly, it eliminates spattering. Additionally, it boasts an extremely low dilution rate per welding pass. Moreover, the bonding force between the overlay and the base metal is enhanced. Lastly, the technology minimizes the workpiece deformation.  We have integrated the CMT welding technology into our intelligent manufacturing system. This system is equipped with 8-axis 6-articulated robots, accompanied by cutting-edge 3D imaging technology and a robot vision system. It can adapt to the size of the membrane wall tube panel and identify any deformations during the welding process. Leveraging data analysis capabilities, the system autonomously arranges welding passes, ensuring consistent and stable surfacing welds across the tube panel. Additionally, the most advanced online quality inspection system is used for real-time inspections of the surfacing quality and weld tracking. The successful application of the technology extends to a range of heating surfaces, including WTE waste heat boilers, biomass waste heat boilers, pulverized coal-fired power generation boilers, and white phosphorus to acid production tail gas waste heat boilers. According to the measured thickness of surfacing layers of water-cooled walls, the annual thinning amount is not greater than 0.2mm, showcasing an exceptional corrosion protection effect.
